Author: Ingvild
Word count: 419
Rating and warnings: Safe for everyone, I think
Characters and/or pairing: Doctors
Summary: The Doctors discuss means of retaliation
“We can’t just let the Alliance get away with this.”
J peered over at O. “Well, of course not. Get away with what?”
“Treating the colonies as their own private fiefdoms, of course.”
“Ah, so that’s what they are doing. I just thought they were acting like they own this place.”
S pulled a face at J. “That’s more or less the same thing, isn’t it?”
J chuckled. “I suppose. So what should we do?”
“We need to fight back.”
“How?”
“If we blow up their bases and supply lines, that would be discouraging, wouldn’t it?” suggested G.
“And then what?” J asked. “Destruction is one thing, but we need something for what comes after as well.” He fitted a wooden spoon better into his claw hand and stirred the cheese soup bubbling on the stove.
“We need someone to step up afterwards,” H said. “Someone who can gather the colonies together and create proper peace.”
“Who?” J asked, tasting the soup. “Heero Yuy is dead.”
“Dekim?” S suggested, but the look on his face clearly said no.
“He’s an insane, violent megalomaniac,” G protested.
“True.”
“He’s also offered me a handy sum of money if I can create a weapon to strike fear into the Alliance for him,” J observed. The others turned to stare at him.
“Are you going to do it?” O finally asked.
“I thought I would, yes. And then do something else with it.”
“Like what?”
J grinned. “Create a symbol. Soup’s ready, gentlemen.”
The five sat down to eat.
“The Alliance created mobile suits to intimidate but also attract people,” S observed. “Maybe we can do something similar?”
“Mobile suits, huh?” G muttered. “Well, that is our specialty.”
“A symbol of unity and strength for the colonies, a symbol of fear and unbreakable will for Earth,” H muttered.
“And how would we finance this?” S asked, blowing on the soup.
“Like I said, Dekim Barton has offered me money,” J said blandly. The others stared at him.
“You must know that he intends to kill civilians and everyone else around him,” G said.
“Yep.”
“So you intend to double-cross him?”
“Yep.”
“That’s insane.”
“Yep.”
“Insane enough that he wouldn’t expect it,” S murmured.
O nodded. “It might just work.”
“Gentlemen, this must be the last time we meet like this,” J said, standing up. “To reduce suspicions, we should end all contact now.”
G nodded. “Talk again in…a few years.”
A plan ready, the five insane genii settled down to eat their meal.
